Car Insurance Mercedes-Benz (Car Insurance). Kawasaki Ninja vs. Harley?Kawasaki Ninja vs. Harley? So I've had my license for 2 years, been driving for 3. I haven't gotten anything on my record, no speeding tickets, no accidents of ANY kind... I've overly cautious. I want to get a motorcycle. Something like a Kawasaki Ninja. My mom told me I should ask Yahoo what they think before I go ahead and purchase it. Would getting a Ninja be a bad idea? Or anything in the "ultimate sport bike" area... Start with a Basic Rider's Course. Try that Ninja for yourself there. No state listed, so no specific information to give. Google Motorcycle Safety Foundation, or your local DMV/BMV or whoever it is that handles licenses where you live. If you want a bike, then thats a great place to start. get a harley for speed sort of like saying... drove the sailing dingy for the last few years..so going to get a hydroplane.. A 250 ninja is a great beginner bike. Awesome gas mileage, an agile, quick and useful bike. Chicks and even most bikers won't know it from a full on sport bike. Bigger sport bikes are illegal in most countries for beginners to ride for good reason, but we like to cull the herd here in the states. So get a big sport bike if you want your own darwin award. A harley is an antique reproduction, way over priced and the performance to match it's 70 year old design. Sure, get a Ninja, Just so long as it is the Ninja 250. The 600 or 1000 versions will kill you. Auto parts : Grille Guard Acura 1995 . Grille Guard Mounting Kit Alfa Romeo 1996 . Grinding Compound Audi 1997 . Grinding Wheel BMW 1998 . Hacksaw Buick 1999 . I have 2003 5 speed ford mustang and its kind of hard to explain, but sometimes when starting into first gear the engine will kind of stall and pick up alternately jolting the body even when giving it good amount of gas, cant even floor it and it will still do it. Then, if i switch to second gear it will keep up with it until after a few seconds it will finally come out of it. Now i have been driving stick shift for only about a week now so im hoping its just something im doing wrong. But, for the first few days i wasnt having this problem. I want to get a PPL, but I have some medical issues to deal with, am I qualified? I kinda have a long list, but I'm in pretty good shape. I'm 16 right now, and I might get to start flight training next summer through CAP. My issues are ADD, asthma, allergies, and eye problems. I'll describe them in the order that I think will be the least to worst of my troubles. Allergies-I really don't see how this will stop me from flying. I have food, environmental, and grass allergies, but they're irritating at worst, and I'm not allergic to airplanes. Eye problems-I have conditions known as strabismus and amblyopia, but they're correctible to 20/20, and I have normal color vision. Asthma-It used to be moderate, now it's mild at worst. I know that it's only possibly disqualifying if it has ever been medicated with steroids or resulted in hospitalization. I was hospitalized once for it at 6 months old, and I haven't taken steroids for it since I was 10. ADD-I know there are really confusing rules about this one. I know that I won't be allowed to fly while on stimulants. However, I quit taking medication for it a while ago and I'm off perfectly fine. This probably won't apply to me, but, since there are now nonstimulants (guanfacine), could pilots fly while on those? So what is and isn't a cause for concern? I'd be going for a 3rd class medical, btw. car insurance. Auto parts : Hose Disconnect Tool Scion 1999. Hose Pincher Smart 2000. Hydrometer Sterling 2001. Ignition Module Wrench Subaru 2002. Mercedes-Benz . How to Clean a Saturn Engine ValveThe main air valve on your Saturn inline four engine is called the "throttle body" (TB).Throttle bodies are precision metering devices, so any carbon, varnish or buildup inside can cause a loss of power and poor idle quality, while generally causing your car to act like a jacked-up beater. Throttle body cleaning is a fairly simple procedure, and is a good starter project for those who are new to auto mechanics. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Metric sockets and wrenches, full set Flathead screwdriver One can of carburetor/choke cleaner One can of brake cleaner Small, natural hair paintbrush Throttle body gasketRemoving the TB Step by Step : 1 Identify the throttle body, which is located between the plastic air cleaner intake tube and the intake manifold. Remove the clamp that secures the intake tube to the TB, and pull the intake tube free. 2 Remove the throttle cable by slipping a pen under the cable, working it toward you until the cable comes off. Remove the vacuum plug-in on top of the throttle body. Unplug the wiring harnesses from the throttle position sensor and the idle air control (IAC) valve on the firewall side of the TB. 3 Remove the two 10 mm head nuts from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) bracket on the bottom-left of the TB. Remove the bracket. Remove the two 10 mm bolts that hold the TB to the intake manifold and tap the top of the TB with a screwdriver handle to pop it loose. Remove the TB and set it on a metal work surface. Stripping and Cleaning the TB Step by Step : 1 Remove the two Allen-head bolts that secure the throttle position sensor (TPS) to the TB, and pull the TPS free. Remove the two Allen-head IAC-mounting bolts, and carefully wiggle the IAC out of the throttle body. Be careful---there's a small O-ring between the IAC and the throttle body, and you don't want to damage it. 2 Spray the back of the TB's throttle plate and the inside of the TB bore with a liberal dose of carb cleaner, and allow it to sit for 10 seconds. Give it another spray, and start scrubbing the area with your paint brush. Keep cleaning until the area looks shiny and clean. Flip the TB over and repeat the procedure on the front. 3 Open the TB valve and clean around the area where the plate contacts the inside of the bore. 4 Spray carb cleaner into the L-shaped and rectangular IAC channels, and scrub them with your paint brush until they're free of deposits. If you can see deposits, get rid of them. 5 Spray the entire area with brake cleaner to remove any deposits left by the carburetor cleaner. 6 Clean the metal protrusion (called the "pintle") on the IAC valve itself. The pintle is responsible for metering air into your engine at idle, so making sure it's free of deposits is vital to ensuring idle quality. 7 Reassemble the TB in the reverse order of disassembly, making sure to install the O-ring back onto the IAC before you slip it back into the IAC receiver. Reinstall the TB back onto your intake manifold (using a new TB gasket) in the reverse order of removal. *requires little time or effort. (During one of my TV guest appearances, Regis Philbin changed the oil in a car in five minutes, and he didn't get a spot on his Italian silk suit!) All you have to do is unscrew a plug and a filter, let the oil drain out, replace the filter and plug, and pour in some new oil. If you have a professional do it for you, you have to telephone the shop to make an appointment, drive the car in, either wait for it or find a ride home and back again to pick it up, and then wait until they make up your bill — which takes much longer. If you go to one of those quickie oil change places, you don't know what viscosity of oil they've used, whether they really changed the filter, and whether the drain plug was secured properly. Most impor tant, once you see how inexpensive and easy it is, you'll change your oil as often as necessary rather than adding visits to the service station to your procrastination list! V? ^ " vou can>t reach the oil filter or drain plug without having to crawl under -"""^ your vehicle, or if you want to chicken out of the job for any other reason, most shops have low-priced oil and lube specials now and then. Just be sure that they use high-quality oil and that they change the oil filter, too. Get your supplies together Before you start the job, assemble the following items: Oil: Check your owner's manual to find the proper oil recommended for your car and how many quarts you need. (As a general rule, most vehicles require 5 to 6 quarts of oil, but you don't want to risk overfilling it.) If you have no manual, call a local dealer who sells your vehicle make and model and ask someone in the service department. Or find the information in an auto repair manual for your vehicle's make, model, and year at the library. Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System Mercedes-Benz . Why would the car over heat?
Saturn Astra. * A tragic tale Before I stopped being an automotive "dummy," my family car resided for its first 35,000 miles in a garage, where professional mechanics looked after it. Whenever they said that the car needed the oil changed, I scheduled the work promptly. Yet when I took the engine apart in an adult-education automotive class, I found that the mechanics had never changed the oil! This lack of proper lubrication had led to big trouble: The dirty old oil had formed big, black pebbles, and the camshaft had practically worn away! When this happens, either you opt for major and expensive surgery or you get rid of the vehicle. As I sadly watched my dear Macho-Mobile vanish into the sunset, the major question in my mind was, "How did this happen?" The answer, unfortunately, was that I'd depended on someone else for lubrication reminders and had trusted someone else to do the job properly. Not only had I been paying at least twice as much as it would have cost to do the job myself, but I ended up paying to replace a carthat could have gone almost twice as far if it had been lubricated properly. If this sad story inspires you to undertake your own lubrication work, then dear old M-M will not have been towed away in vain. Besides, paying someone a lot of money to do something that you can do yourself in a couple of minutes is just plain silly. And if you can unscrew the top of a bottle, you can change your oil without any trouble. An oil filter: Under the hood of your car, sticking out of the engine, is what looks like a tin can screwed into your engine block. This is your oil filter (see Figure 15-4). As the oil circulates from the oil pan through your engine, it passes through this filter, which cleans the oil and removes some of the particles of metal and dirt. You should change the oil filter every time you change your oil, especially if you're going to do so less frequently than every 3,000 miles. Oil filters sell for very little at auto supply stores; at a service station, you'll pay more. Make sure to get the right filter for your car's make and model. You may wonder what happens if your oil filter gets totally clogged and no more oil can pass through it. Your friendly auto designers have saved your bacon by installing a pressure relief valve that pops open, allowing the oil to bypass the filter so that the engine isn't starved of oil. Of course, all the dirt and metal particles then circulate through your precious bearings and onto your cylinder walls until you change your clogged filter. Check the price of an oil filter at your dealer's parts department. If it's within a dollar or two of the auto parts store price, buy it. It's probably a better filter. (Some of the auto parts store filters are very cheaply made, and they fail occasionally.) . Chapter 15: Changing Your Oil 22 7 is* An oil filter wrench (optional): Most oil filters screw on and off. If your old filter hasn't been changed in a long time, you may need an oil filter wrench, shown in Figure 15-5, to unscrew your filter (but always tighten the new one by hand to avoid crushing the seal). If you're not sure what an adjustable wrench is, see Chapter 2. v* An oil drain plug gasket: This piece of equipment is inexpensive, and it's wise to buy one in case the one on your car needs replacing. If you buy your oil filter from a dealer, a new gasket may be in the package. Some vehicles don't have drain plug gaskets, relying instead on a tapered metal-to-metal contact to prevent oil leakage. Don't try to use a gasket on one of these. It won't work, and you may end up with your new oil in a pool on the floor. f Something to catch the oil: Find an old basin that's low enough to fit under your car without your having to jack up the car, and large enough to hold all the old oil — usually about 5 quarts. Line the basin with a large plastic garbage bag, opened so that it can catch the oil, leaving the basin clean. You can also buy a container made especially for holding old oil. These containers are reusable, but you have to wash them out and find a place Mercedes-Benz . What does L means in the transmission lever?
